The following is the render workflow:

1. Check that al the files related to the project are within one folder

    • File names should only contain numbers and letters, no spaces or special characters
    • Make sure that yhere are not duplicated file names
    • If it is posible, we recomend creating cache files for all the simulations
    • We suggest to follow the following file structure:

      Estructura de Archivos

2. Render a frame on your computer so you can calculate times and costs on our website

To calculate an estimate of prices and render times we need to know how long does it takes to a frame to be rendered on your computer. We know that there are slow and fast frames, so we recomend to render one frame of each type and then make an average calculation of the render times. After you have an average render timeper frame, feed this information on our online calculator.

3. Compress the project

Once you have included all related files to the project on one folder (modules, plugins, textures, gi maps, scene files, cache files for simulations etc), compress it using zip or rar formats.

4. Contact Baklight to receive a username and password for the FTP access

Send us an email using the link at the bottom of all of our website, requesting an FTP user account along with your contact information.

5. Upload files to the FTP

Click on the Clients Access link on the left side of the screen, and type your user name and password. If your browser allows it, upload the compressed file to this location. If your browser does not allows this operation, you can use a folder navegation window within windows operating system. Open a new window and type on the adress bar the following adress:
                                       ftp://www.baklight.com.
You will be prompted for your user name and passsword, and once typed, you can copy and paste the compresed folder here.
If you use an FTP client you can create a new ftp account and save your username and password for that account. If you work on a mac, we recommend FETCH, and if your work on a pc, we recommend SMART FTP CLIENT.
Once your files are uploaded you should send us an emailwith the following information:

        • The result of the time and cost calculator from our website
        • The render specs: frame range to be rendered, resoluction, frame size, file format
        • If you used cache files, you should notify us.

When we have received your email and the files are uploaded on our FTP, we will do a test render to give you the final budget for your project. We will send you an email with the final cost and the render times for your project, as well as a msn and skype support contact so you can be in real time in contact with us. Once you accept the budget, we will start the render.

6. Check the rendered frames online

Random rendered files will be uploaded so you can check the adavance online inside this folder: render_previews, within your FTP account. If you find any problem with the renderm we ask you to please notify us inmediately using the msn and skype support accounts.

7. Pay

Once the render is finishedm, you will receive an email with total ammount to be paid and the bank and paypal information for you to do so.
When the paymen is done and verified we can move to the next step.

8. Download the rendered files from the FTP

Once your paymen is verified, you will find a folder within your FTP account named rendered_files.You can download your rendered frames from there.
